Adoration Parade and Lighting Ceremony

Everyone looks forward to all the pleasures of the holidays, but the source of joy lies in the reason for the season. On that starry night 2,000 years ago, God sent into the world a Savior, so that all who come to Him in faith can have forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

On December 4, Branson will pause from seasonal activities to reflect on the life-changing Christmas story, the exquisite beauty of which never dims. At 5 p.m., the evening will start with the lighting of a large nativity scene and star overlooking Lake Taneycomo. Afterwards, the Adoration Parade begins in the historic downtown area, and it will end at Branson’s Landing. The day of the lighting usually holds an array of activities such as caroling.

This is the 68th year of this annual event that adds immeasurably to the local festivities. Branson loves to keep Christ in Christmas, and the theme can be seen in shows and other events like Silver Dollar City’s Old Time Christmas.
