Patsy Cline, the iconic star of country music, has been gone for some time; but her music will live on forever.
Those of us who are of a certain age will fondly remember her rich alto voice belting out hits such as “Crazy” and “I Fall to Pieces.” Her style was so distinctive and special that modern-day artists like Reba McEntire and Loretta Lynn credit her with being an influence on them.
Attending the Patsy Cline & Friends concert will take you on a wonderful musical journal to the early days of traditional country music. C. J. Newsom, who will be backed by a band called The Re-Cliners, will perform the superstar’s songs. In addition, the comedian Terry Sanders will regale the audience with his impersonation of whacky characters. Even people who aren’t die-hard fans of this genre of music will love the show.
Ticket prices are $25 for ages 13 to 17 and $38 for ages 18 and older. The location is the Americana Theatre at 2905 W. 76 Country Boulevard. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
